A group of metal surface pre-treatments designed to achieve different levels of finish.
These treatments are intended to prepare/clean the metal surface so it can accept an
additional layer—such as lamination or coating/painting—or, alternatively, to create optical
changes in light reflectance, i.e., glossy or matte. This group includes sand-blasting or any
other media blasting, chemical cleaning, and electro-polishing.
